Effectiveness of the Stop Snoring Mouthpiece

If you have experienced snoring problems for a while, you understand the frustration it can cause both the snorer and their spouse. It can be such a disruptive force that marriage counselors have blamed it for breaking up some marriages. Many anti snoring products flat out don’t work. However, one of the newest products on the market is the stop snoring mouthpiece. While it’s not perfect, the stop snoring mouthpiece has been a terrific solution for many snorers.
The mouthpiece is similar to the one worn by boxers and football players. It is made of rubber and has to be molded to fit your mouth perfectly. The molding process is simple. You hold it in hot water until it is softened enough that you can make indentations in it with your teeth. You bite down on it for a couple of minutes and then hold it in cool water until it holds its shape. The mouthpiece will then fit your mouth perfectly.
Once fitted. the anti snoring mouthpiece will cause your lower jaw to jut forward up to about half an inch. This subtle displacement of your jaw causes no discomfort and is very successful at opening the airway in your throat. An airway that is opened further allows more air to pass through with little or no blockage. It is this blockage that causes snoring.
The mouthpiece can greatly reduce, or in some cases totally eliminate any of the vibrations that take place when there is blockage. It is very effective in doing this.
There are those who experience trouble sleeping with the mouthpiece in. The trouble is not caused by discomfort, but rather not being able to get used to sleeping with the mouthpiece in all night.
