There are many snoring solutions flooding the market today, because snoring is a serious world wide problem. If your partner snores, you are already very aware of the magnitude of the snoring problem. There are very few snoring products that provide relief for the person who has to listen to the snoring. With the exception of sleep apnea (a serious condition), snoring related sleep loss is mostly experienced by the partner. Not the person who is actually doing the snoring. Because of the fact that earplugs and white noise machines only provide marginal relief, people ultimately wind up settling for a reduction of the snoring sound in hopes of easing the burden. So why don’t these choices work as well as we would like them to? The problem is in the area of efficiency and how we hear. Earplugs and noise canceling headphones fall prey to the fact that a large portion of the snoring you hear gets into your ears through bone conduction (vibrations traveling through your skull, etc..). There is really nothing that these “muffling” type products can do about that portion of your hearing. That is why you still hear the snoring to a surprising degree.

To determine what causes the problem of snoring, you should first be aware of what it is and what the effects are. Snoring is a loud noise of breathing through the mouth or nose that occurs during sleep. Almost everyone snores on occasion. One main reason snoring occurs is because of congestion, but even a baby or pet can snore. It can become a problem if you stop breathing during sleep and have to wake up to catch your breath, if you’re disturbing someone you’re sleeping with, or if you’re not getting enough sleep because of it.
